Love- can break your heart
As our choir sang
Pour les maisons de la retrait
I bore witness
From the corner of
My eye
His devotion
Spills from
Pale blue eyes
Rarely leaving her side
Reading, anticipating
His efforts to
Reassure her
Albeit briefly
Respirations syncopate
As though
One heart beats
Pour tous les deux
I can feel fragile tissues
Weakening
The tenuous hold
On this life
Sa crainte
She could cross over
Without him
Son coeur se briserait

this is excellently captured… if you love much, the fear of losing the loved one becomes unbearable… really hit me esp. hard as my colleague just lost her husband… we cannot hold them… it’s tough…
Lovely! The Happiest & Healthiest New Year to you Lea!
This is so beautifully sad Lea. It reminds me of the devotion my father showed for my mother while she was in “a home”. He would sit with her every day all day, merely returning home to sleep. You have captured the sadness excellently. Wonderful poetry as always my lovely friend.
Love

Very beautiful and true. Wishing you a wonderful new year filled with love!
Very beautiful poem, Lea.
Thank you so very much Francina! I was really moved by the couple, if that came through at all, I have succeeded in a small way.
