Putting pen or keyboard to page…

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”   – Ernest Hemingway

“If you do not breath through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don’t write, because our culture as no use for it.”   – Anais Nin

“You fail only if you stop writing.”   – Ray Bradbury

Putting pen or keyboard to page…

It isn’t as though

I like to write

Though the pleasure

Of having written

Can be sweet

*

At times

Writing is

The air and

One cannot stop

Its involuntary flow

*

At other times

It is the life

Blood

Dripping, flowing

From an open wound

*

There were years

We parted company

One needs a safe place

To put their words

There was none

*

Even the memory

Lost in harm’s way

Those stories and poems

Long purged from possession

To painful to recall

*

Today we are united

In France

LIBERATION

Words find voice

They write of beauty

And finally of JOY

  1. Lea I am so pleased your words and voice have been reunited. Now you can really “bleed” onto the pages. Gorgeous poem of something that I know is so utterly important to you.

My favourite quote is the Ernest Hemingway one but I still love them all. I have a silly game where I always have to pick favourite things; it can make life very complicated!!! 😊😊

You are making great progress in your journey; Im privileged to be accompanying you and I know on the journey we will keep stopping for coffee and chestnut cake 😊

Christine, as Hemingway said, I just sit at the keyboard and bleed… as if I am just an observer and don’t know what is said until I go back and read it. It often seems as if it was someone else until then but the feelings cannot be denied.

Of course I know nothing about taking the complicated route… 😉

I am already tasting the chestnut cake and the coffee but the best part is that you will be there!

      Love

it’s cool when writer and words find that place of reunion…that safe place to bring pen to paper… it’s fascinating and a bit magical as well
